Organizations are increasingly global on information acquisition, information rendition and making decisions to tap right and best opportunities with social networking being an integral part of information life cycle.

The challenge is not only to capture and store data but its effective management to deliver the value in terms of information fusion, knowledge nuggets and analytical insight.

The tutorial will introduce the concept of ‘Big Data’, the opportunities, the challenges and architectural framework that will facilitate the delivery of opportunities while addressing challenges. The architecture for the ‘Big Data Management’ will be demonstrated through Hadoop technology with Map-Reduce framework and its Open Source ecosystem.

Dr. Santosh Kumar Mohanty is a Vice President at TCS. He has twenty five years of industry and teaching experience that includes Business Strategy, Partner Collaboration, Analysts Relation, R&D and Leadership Grooming. He has PhD in Mathematical Sciences and MS in Computational Mathematics from NIU, IL, USA. He has been awarded the title of Distinguished IT Architect (Profession Leader) by The Open Group. Currently, he is heading the Components Engineering Group (CEG).

Jayant Dani is a senior consultant at TCS. He has eighteen years of industry and teaching experience that includes architecting and implementing large projects and products in financial services, technology company and retail business for global and Indian customers. Jayant is TOGAF certified and currently heading the Big Data Center of Excellence in TCS.

Srikar Chilakamarri is a consultant at TCS. He has twelve years of industry experience with specialization in business intelligence solution and large database management. He has architected and managed many BI solutions across telecom and financial services. He has authored TCS’ analytic data model for Telecom. Currently, he is heading the Enterprise Data Management program in TCS.
